THE PIG awarded in Sofia!

March 17, 2019

The first TFL Film of the year, THE PIG by Dragomir Sholev, premiered in Competition at the Sofia International Film Festival 2019, where it won the Special Jury Award, Best Bulgarian Feature Film Award and the FIPRESCI Prize.

This marks the second success for Dragomir after his debut feature THE SHELTER, co-written by TFL Tutor Răzvan Rădulescu, which won the Grand Prize, Best Bulgarian Feature Film Award and the Audience Award in the 2011 edition of the festival.

THE PIG was developed within ScriptLab (formelly known as Script&Pitch) 2015 and co-written by Martin Iliev. A co-production between Gorilla Films (Bulgaria), Nu Boyana Film Studios (Bulgaria), B2Y (Bulgaria), Screening Emotions (Bulgaria) and Papillon Film (Romania), the film tells the story of Rumen, a lonely and introverted 13-year-old bullied by his classmates who decides to hit back with a single, yet probably fatal strike.

World sales are handled by French international sales company Wide.
