TFL Co-Production Fund 2021: new call open!

February 2, 2021

Big news today: the call for the TFL Co-Production Fund 2021 is now open.
The ultimate goal of the fund is to support co-productions between European producers and international co-producers.

Over the years, TorinoFilmLab has expanded its outreach combining training activities with funding opportunities supporting both co-production and distribution with international ambition.

By scouting and reaching out to projects and producers from all over the world, TFL has had the chance to contribute and to finance, among many others, the hybrid documentary CHOCOBAR by Argentinian director Lucrecia Martel.
The film won the TFL Co-Production Fund 2020, it was then granted the Pardo 2020 at Locarno “The Films After Tomorrow” and – more recently – the Dutch Post-Production Award (IFFR).

But let’s get to the point, the TFL Co-Production Fund 2021 targets experienced filmmakers from the 3rd feature film project onward and it’s open to fiction, animations and documentaries.
In order to apply, you need to be a producer based in one of the countries participating in the MEDIA Sub-programme (countries available here).

The selected project will be awarded a co-production grant of € 50.000, to be allocated to the European production company, and will benefit from tailor-made consultancies with experts in various fields of filmmaking.

The deadline for application is April 15th, 2021.
For further details, check the call for applications.

Finally, a bit of a little heads up: the TFL Audience Design Fund call 2021 will open on March 1st, 2021. This fund is addressed to producers and sales agents working on internationally co-produced feature film projects and aims at supporting the implementation of innovative audience development and outreach strategies at the moment of distribution.

In the frame of the TFL funding initiatives, we are also glad to share that Daniele Segre, Production and TFL Audience Design Fund advisor, will join a group consultancy at the Rotterdam Lab on February 4th. During the event - accessible upon-registration to Rotterdam Lab attending producers - he will share insights and advices, together with other international experts in different fields and representing various important institutions, funds and training initiatives.

The TFL funds have been created thanks to the Creative Europe – MEDIA sub-programme support to International Co-production Funds.
