Calls & Opportunities

TFL Calls: ScriptLab 2022 is open until 1st October 2021!

July 26, 2021

There you have it: a summary of the #TFL calls currently open, starting with ScriptLab, our annual programme specifically dedicated to screenwriting.

We believe that the most original stories are realized through the generous sharing of personal processes of creation among a group of film professionals, bringing diversity of experience, culture, and personality to the table.

That’s why we open our programme to 20 writer/directors (or teams of screenwriter and director) from all over the world, working on a fiction feature film in early development stage. ScriptLab is focused on fiction feature films, and for the 2022 edition we especially welcome applications for feature film comedy projects, in a wide definition of that genre.

We are also looking for 5 story editors trainees, professionals interested in gaining an insight into the script development process. The story editor trainees will acquire skills in the fields of treatment and script analysis, assessment of project development and script consulting.

The programme comprises 2 week-long residential modules (June and November) and 3 online modules (March, September and October).

The deadline this time will be on 1st October 2021!

Click here to apply! For any doubts, you can get in touch with the project manager Sofia Falchetto.

Furthermore, two short terms opportunities are also open to any interested professional with some time to invest in training in September.

TFL Extended - Story Editing / Madrid (Spain): it's an intensive workshop addressed to international film professionals interested in being trained as story editors for feature films projects. The programme provides an insight into the development process focusing on specific technical material, like how to shape and phrase written or oral feedback taking into account the project holder’s psychological aspect, and participants will gain training in working with writers, from an idea up to a professional draft of the treatment, helping them find the core of their story.

The sessions are on 20-26 September in Madrid (Spain).
Deadline to apply: 6th August 2021

TFL Next - Audience Design: it is an online workshop dedicated to international film, media and digital professionals that want to boost their career in the communication and promotional field. The workshop aims at sharing insights and tools to build innovative strategies in order to support a film’s sales and distribution, through group and individual sessions on feature film projects awarded with the TFL Audience Design Fund and the Audience Design Award – by WCF Europe & TFL.

The first session is on 18-22 October; the second session is at the beginning of November.
Deadline to apply: 6th August 2021
